Message

Dear Global Vice Presidents!
I am Sun Jo Hwang, President of Sun Moon University.
Establishing a mutually beneficial community where we can all live together in harmony is the most valuable goal of the 21st century. Uniting all the capabilities of the political, economic, educational, and other areas, we should develop joyful "Local communities" that are overflowing with vitality. Based on that foundation, we should build national and ethnic communities and the community of the Global Village.

On this premise, with our Founding Ideals of "Love God; Love Humankind; Love your Country," Sun Moon University has established the vision for the university to become a "Leading University in the Glocal Community of Industry, the University, and the Local community."

Sun Moon University has formed a mutually beneficial, cooperative community with the local citizens and businesses in our area. We are working hard to cultivate creative human resources matching the needs of the companies in the area. In addition, in this age of the Global Village, in order to communicate with the world and obtain international economic power, our university's international infrastructure is being shared with our community. We are pulling the internationalization of our community forward.

In particular, our system of Global Vice Presidents in 41 nations is a unique worldwide network that among all the universities of the world can be found only at Sun Moon University. Former and current University Presidents, Minister Level government officials, Congressmen, and Professors, all great intellectuals with high reputations in their societies, are making efforts to establish systems for global education and cooperation as the Global Vice Presidents of Sun Moon University.

Since the first Global Vice Presidents· meeting at Sun Moon University in November 2012, our Global Vice Presidents have increased exchanges between nations, attracted Korean Government Scholarship students as well as overseas exchange students, supported overseas employment, supported global industry-university cooperation and joint research with universities all throughout the world. Beyond that, through their support of the overseas visits of the "Global Frontier Program" teams, made up of our Korean and foreign students, they are helping create a new model for internationalization programs.

I am deeply grateful for the dedicated efforts of the Global Vice Presidents in each nation. In the future, the cooperative relationship of our university and our Global Vice Presidents will continue to develop extensively. I anticipate even greater roles and missions for our Global Vice Presidents, and I hope that through them the hope of humankind for a Global Village with a peaceful extended family can be realized.
